is he heading the OCS fundraising? :stirpot:

Why not...he seems to have that skill set

Obviously he was brought in to fund all those special uniforms that keep popping up.

Jim and Eric

Rumor is that he is bringing someone else with him to replace Eric or one of the other departures. He is replacing Harris - as far as title.

Too many "do nothing" alumni that talk rather than donate.

TOO MANy 'DO NOTHING JOBS" with titles

Smazz, there are way too few people in the Bulls Club.  You should see the few that are left scurrying around at events. They need someone, along with the AD, at the Fred Meyers Hardwood Club before and during halftime of basketball games.  This is where the floor seat people go for meet and greets, have cocktails, etc.  Then there is the Arena Club where $2K donors have the option of food and drink before games.  So there are usually 2 or more Bulls Club workers there.  So these people are at every BB game, men's and women's.  Plus their normal duties of trying to coordinate events, meet with donors and try to raise more funds.  They put together the Friday Night Lights package for baseball and the pregame Tailgate for the home football games this year.  They travel to away football games to host events and the ADs suite.

The really work their tales off and have little time for family or dating.  The total there was in the 12 or so range just a couple of years back.  Shelley is more or less running things since Jim Harris got fired and she's only been here a couple of years.  They are all great but really are worked to death for the measly amount they get paid.

It doesn't happen as often recently, but there have been times when people on here complain about not being contacted or thanked. Joe T handles the Silver Bulls and up and Eric was responsible for everyone else while he was here.  That was about 2,000 people.  Eric has been gone for a while now.  The younger, less experienced people are doing the best they can.

The point is, these are not "do nothing" jobs.  The wife and I thanked them by having them all to our house this summer and giving them a gift for Christmas.  If you count the hours they work these are probably just above minimum wage jobs for all but Joe T.

And this pretty much sums up why our previous AD was so terrible. Ran the department like a high school booster club! People making moderate to large financial contributions can't even get someone to answer the phone! Just wow.

Although Doug was responsible for some leaving, the place has been cleared out by the current AD.  Two were guys leaving on their own, Mike C and John B.  But he is in the process of rebuilding.
