The current USF beat reporters know that Montero recently gave a verbal commitment to USF, but so far none of them have reported following up to see whether he signed during the early period.

It almost makes me wish that BM was still covering USF. I did say almost..

I'm not a USF beat writer, but with very little effort I was able to find an 11/12 article mentioning that De Silva had signed that very day. Why didn't any of them at least see THAT? Apparently, they only want to be spoon fed USF releases and press conferences which they then regurgitate back in the form of an article.

I think both sides want it to happen. I'm sure what's happening now is that USF admissions is checking the transcript to make sure it's all good, before the announcement.

 

(1) USF doesn't want to look bad.

(2) Luis doesn't want to be without options.
