Dunkley made contact above the shoulders with a receiver who did not have an opportunity to defend himself.

Davis clearly threw (bad) punches.

Disagree with the rules all you want, but the calls were correct.

I hate to agree because I did think the call on Dunkley was soft but it is the rule and it was enforced correctly and Davis did throw punches. So sadly the calls were correct, like or hate the rule.

Disagree that was a terrible call on Dunkley.  He was a step away from making a great hit no way you can pull up in less than half a second.

I agree with the call on Davis if he just shoved him no penalty a swing and you should be ejected.

The Cincy player should have had a least a flag on him for starting that BS.  If you are going to eject Davis, you have to at least call a flag on Cincy as it takes two to tango. They totally missed the part when the Cincy player shoved him when he was well out of bounds. Also the ejection of Dunkley was a BS call as the WR actually jumped into him. What was Dunkley going to do? Dodge him while he was trying to make a play on the ball? BS call and that is why football new rules suck. Sorry.

Regardless of whether the rules suck, they IS the rules, and you have to keep your head in the game. You have to know that responding gets you the flag and 15 yards.

Davis hurt his teammates. Needs to not do that.

I agree with Davis. He looked pretty pissed most of the night. The Cincy players got our players pretty good. They finally called Cincy for taunting after they scored their TD. Cincy was not that innocent in this whole deal. Not sure if they were ticked off from last year when they lost in Tampa, but they really got inside USF's heads with all that trash talk.  I am talking about Dunkly getting ejected because he left his feet and they called it targeting. Look at that play again and you will see WR jumping into Dunks. Dunks was trying to get that INT as the ball just missed both their hands. Cant really eject him for that.

And plus to add to this. Davis pretty much hurt his draft stock if he even had one going out on his senior year. NFL teams will see how he lost his head in this game. So I just dont see him at the next level now.

Play to the "echo of the whistle" but not beyond.

Trash talk does not cause penalties, responding to trash talk does. If these boys can't handle trash talk on the field, how they gonna handle life?

Davis hasn't been a leader for 4 yrs....why would he start now? A true freshman (mack) went over and got him away.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
