They say he was one of the best bigs at Nike Global Challenge in Chicago. 6-8 Tulio Da Silva, a Brazilian native has brought his talents to Arlington Country Day in Jacksonville, FL. Da Silva has advanced footwork, finishes through contact and has the necessary two foot bounce to do damage in the paint. Bigs coming from overseas usually have a skill edge on their American counterparts but not the physicality when they first arrive, but not Da Silva. He plays with great energy, rebounds outside his area and possesses very good timing on blocking shots. The one area where he need work is his shooting. Da Silva was initially in the class of 2016 but it looks like he will class-up to 2015. Look for South Florida to be high on his list, the whole staff was recently in to see him. Assuming this kid can provide a Ron Anderson Jr.-like spark, I'd be all for offering the scholarship.

I hope those are old measurements because we need some height down low.

He's big, strong and active. As the high school season draws closer, we'll be hearing more about him in the near future because the number of available players that have his type of skill set and raw ability for high-major programs will be slim. The 6-foot-8 post man can explode with a simple dribble and gets to the rim. He's all power in the paint and aggressively rebounds in and out of his area. Reportedly, South Florida is already in there really good with Da Silva. http://hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/1602-top-performers-from-the-florida-shootout

Don't know because there is not a lot to go on. Frankly Antigua and company are reaching out to unknown and what they hope are diamond in the rough type of players for the 2015 class. They really struck out on a lot of good prospects for this class, so just have to hope that they can find some talented under recruited prospects to sign.
