USF led COIA urging school presidents to postpone paying athletes.

"The Coalition on Intercollegiate Athletics (COIA; the Coalition) is an alliance of faculty senates from NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools. COIA’s mission is to provide a national faculty voice on intercollegiate sports issues."

Notice the official site is hosted by PENN STATE: http://blogs.comm.psu.edu/thecoia/

The Faculty Senate at USF (and every school) operates independently from the administration... this means that Judy might have KNOWN about it, but Judy did not appoint him... the USF Faculty Senate appointed him.

And this is not a G5 thing... look at the list of P5 schools that are members -- there are more P5 members (37) of this Coalition than G5 members (26) -- http://blogs.comm.psu.edu/thecoia/?page_id=11%C2'> (Yes, it hasn't been updated with the most recent conference changes- Rutgers is shown in the American, ECU in CUSA)

People need to do more than jump to conclusions around here... this is not led by USF... it's not something that is official from USF's NCAA representation or athletic department.

USF pretty much says that they are out of the loop for P5. That is what bad seasons will do. Leavitt had us with 50K a game. Now all is lost.

This is NOT "USF" saying anything ... This is an independent organization that is chaired by a professor from USF, but made up of P5 and G5 schools.

There is a VERY BIG difference.

Professors chair and are members of all sorts of organizations. I'm glad that USF has professors that get involved.

You could state this 100 times over and be blue in the face, and some people on this board will still fail to understand what you've written. Spot-on, Jim.

LOL  There are illusions, and there is reality.
