I was actually somewhat of a critic. So rather than rehash his shortcomings, I prefer to laugh how some think its so easy for anyone else. I know better. Why on earth would anyone but an up and comer would accept the job? Also, I find it amusing that you keep pounding the P5 drum and are in total denial that ESPN is behind all of this. That window is shut and locked now. ESPN and the powers that be have made sure of that. I was the lone guy sitting in my section in the 3rd quarter. No P5 conference wants that. Before he was hired I would have said that I preferred him over what we have had here. So far I have not been proven right but we shall see. It is the curse of Jim Leavitt. He didnt put it on it was just Karma. Leavitt situation was handled wrong by USF and now Karma has get the best of USF. Not sure how USF will break the curse. They may need to build that OCS and name it after Leavitt or at least put a Leavitt statue around the OCS. That may be the only way USF breaks the curse. Induct him into the USF Hall of Fame. By himself. Would take some scheduling in advance to line up when he could be here for a home game, but it's time to do it.

So what's the timeline for building a powerhouse and becoming great?

I'm sure there are plenty of programs that in their 6th year of 1A became powerhouses, and great, they could throw out as an examples, though ... Not saying it's good or bad, but a lot that thought underachieving in the 10th-12th years of existence because a BCS conference crown was not ours have moved to new areas of specialty. Good for the Bulls.
