Whatever it takes to build a team mentality. It's not that bad, people who care will make the effort to figure it out.

"Let this be a lesson to all the glory boys, USF is not the school for you. The back of the jersey proves that"

I bet the announcers will be making more than the usual mistakes on IDing players. And that won't sit well with parents.

Announcers, and more accurately, their spotters, ID players by their number, not name if there is one ... Parents will be fine.

Quick glance at the roster and 2, 6, 8, 9, 11, 15, 16, 18, 25, 26, 37, 48, and 61 are used by more than one player. I wish they wouldn't do that.

They play on opposite sides of the ball, but it could get a little confusing on special teams.

Eve on special teams they aren't allowed to be on the field at the same time.. one would have to change their number, see USC-Colorado a couple years back. Only thing is now the number change has to be made aware to the lead ref so he can announce the change.

I think you missed my point.  How could you or anyone else tell which one of these guys were covering a kick?

37   Trevon Griffin DB 6-0 204 Jr.

Miami, Fla. (Navy) (Miramar HS)

37   Rodney Watson RB 5-11 185 Sr.

Lakeland, Fla. (Lakeland)

stupid!

I WOULDNT play for a coach that had such a lame idea

i want people to know my name when i make a play

that so many of us are in agreement is in itself shocking

So you'd turn down a scholly to play at ND or USC?  Makes sense.

usf isnt nd or usc

please dont make such a ridiculous comparison

usf needs to attact players not repel them with such a silly position

usf will look like laughingstocks

no wonder p5 conferences dont evenlook at usf

Smazza wouldn't be the player making TD's. He'd be the one getting slapped in the locker room.

Clearly a play on the Wounded Warriors uniforms last season, and the jerseys worn in the Army Navy game if I remember correctly.  Would prefer blank, ala Penn State, but I can live with the team.

you don't have to live with the team, because that stupid idea was nixed after the school found out it was an NCAA violation, after informing the public they would be doing it.

Looks like the AD is still Busch League even under Harlan.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
