Ron Zook likes the way you think.

If 7-8 win seasons due to good recruiting is the worst case scenario then sign me up.

I think last year, and the not changing his style, was a part of CWT's plan from the beginning. He's said several times that he felt he had to come in here and COMPLETELY change the attitudes of this team. I think that if he changed styles simply to appease some who disagree with him would have cost the respect of some of those players that needed the attitude change the most.

I think that his system will work. I think that he, more or less, treated last year just like CJL did his first year. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, especially after the fiasco of the MSU game.

I EXPECT at least 6 wins.

I hope for all our sakes this recruiting class pans out.

It is clear there are 2 camps on this and in a little more than 6 weeks we will find out how it all turns out. Hopefully these next 6 weeks fly and the night of Aug 30th is celebrated with victory shots.  :GoBulls:

It is true that there has not been a whole lot of material gains yet, but there are a whole bunch of "moral victories" or "on-paper" positives.

Here's my take on it. This also explains why I think Taggart will be a very good coach.

Biggest weaknesses last year (in order of importance):

  • Terrible O-Line. Weak & Undersized. No explosiveness whatsoever. Got manhandled all season.
  • Bad / inconsistent QB play (in part due to O-Line)
  • Poor WR play (not enough targets, not enough time to hit the targets)
  • Poor RB play (in large part due to O-Line and lack of passing game)

What have we done in the offseason (these are the positives...):

  • Bulked up & Strengthened the O-Line. Brought in Paul Wulff to help (has coached 15 O-linemen to All American recognition and worked with 49ers)
  • Brought in the most-hyped USF QB to date in Flowers, (also White and Bench seemed way more up to speed in the spring game)
  • Brought in a bunch of WRs, 2 of which will make a difference this year (McCants and Adams)
  • Brought the 2 best RB prospects we've ever had in the same class.

What positives do I see?

The ability to not only recognize the weaknesses on our team, but then have the vision & drive to fix the weaknesses.

We now have the personnel on offense to actually DO SOMETHING.

GO BULLS

You guys that follow recruiting more than I do, are Mack and Johnson really the two best RBs we've ever recruited?

Mike Ford has to be a part of that conversation.

That's what I was thinking. Along with Darrell Scott.

So you're saying they might be.
