While doing my random USF googling last night, I found this little nugget:

http://collegead.org/college-ad-scoop/

If you search for University of South Florida on the page, it lists Tim Jackson, formerly from Auburn, as a potential AD candidate.

here's what it says:

"Sources tell College AD, Auburn Executive Associate Athletics Director Tim Jackson may very well be in the mix for to become USF's next Athletic Director. Tim Jackson has had ties in the past to Eastman & Beaudine, the executive search firm hired to assist in the AD search."

It would be an interesting hire, but I'm not sure I'm a fan. He basically spent two decades around the Auburn program before getting let go in the Chizik push out. Given some of the things that happened (i.e. the possible bribing of Cam Newton) to come there, how can we be sure we can trust a guy like this?

USF doesn't have any money to use as a bribe, so that won't be an issue even if it would be his inclination.

Seems like the shallow end of the pool.

Dude!  He's from an SEC school.  We should be all over this guy.

So was Houston Nutt. I don't see anyone hanging all over Nutt.

You must have missed all the threads a couple years ago begging USF to hire Nutt.

i don't like when something along the lines of "so and so has ties to the search firm" is thrown around. sounds like a recruiting service for out of work execs versus a true search committee.

Dangling Nutt in front of our face will only cause us to go cross-eyed with confusion.  At the end of the day, dangling Nutt will only leave a bad taste in our mouth
