Any predictions on how the new AD's salary will compare to DW's $700k annually?

Back on topic, as soon a the search firm forwards names to USF you'll hear about them because of the Freedom of Information Act.

FOIA doesn't mandate disclosure until someone actually files a request, right?

That's correct.

Actually when it comes to employment positions FOIA does not apply until the position is filled. This is because employers might take action against employees who are applying for another position.

It was in an article a while back.  As released by the search firm we hired the base salary will be in the neighborhood of $500K +/-.

Thanks. That seems pretty competitive with others and should help land a top-notch candidate. I can't wait to see who we hire and hope they can accomplish half of what LRS did.

Semantics, I guess, but I'm hoping they accomplish more than TWICE what LRS did...

Wow, if I was to base status on just that article, I'd say they haven't really even begun! I really hope we're further along than just a discussion about "outlining the search process", but I'm concerned now that we're not. I'm guessing there's another perspective to this story, since the school already said they began a nationwide search.

Remember AD is not like a coaching position where time may be an issue for recruiting or games. We have an AD and he could be AD up to June 15th 2015, so while the plan is to make a change sooner, I don't think there is a rush.

I wonder, lets say DW is named special advisor to the President for the last year on his contract, does his salary still come out of the athletics budget? (my guess is yes, but I don't know)

Interesting idea. It all depends on how much latitude Judy has in the discretionary hiring/ consultant budget.

I'm going to guess she wouldn't, even if she could, because any money to pay paul has to come from peter, meaning Judy would be constrained against doing other things. No, I'd say athletics is stuck with his budget line item.

This tweet pretty much sums it up

Beaudine on #USF AD gig: "This is an outstanding job. This isn't just a good one."
