Here's a great local sponsor: http://www.cigarcitybrewing.com

YES! I may be partial because I love their beer, am part of their Catador Club, and work 2 mins from the brewery...but man CCB is a great local company (even though it's run by Redner's kid)

I wish we'd build an OCS and they would sponsor it

Cigar City Stadium in Tampa, FL (That just sounds awesome)

you know i thought the same thing a while back and looked it up, if i recall correctly they aren't related. but could be wrong. But i don't think Cigar City has the $$ to be a major sponsor.

As far as fedex, i think its that they are based out of memphis for logistical reasons but the city itself had "nothing" to do with its founding, but more so its growth.

cool to know the co-CEO is a USF grad

They are related, Joey Redner is Joe Redner's son. I've spoken with Joey a few times at the Brewery, great guy. He and his father are nothing alike, if that makes you feel any better.

If we are looking for USF grads for sponsors here are a few:

- Brian Lamb, BS `98 – Donald A. Gifford Service Award

Recognizing a USF graduate alumnus who has provided countless hours of service to USF

Brian Lamb is president and chief executive officer of Fifth Third Bank

Jim Atchison, `88

President/COO

Busch Entertainment Corp

Eddie Carpenter, `70

President, Disneyland International and CFO,

Walt Disney Attractions

Joie Chitwood III, MBA `95

Indianapolis Motor Speedway President and COO

Ed McCraw, `74

VP MasterCard Worldwide

John Ramil, `78 & MCE `00

TECO Energy President

Jordan Zimmerman, `80, MBA `84

Founder/chairman of Zimmerman Advertising, 14th largest advertising agencies in the U.S.; USF trustee and philanthropist

Pretty amazing that Disney and Busch Garden theme parks are basically run by USF Alumni... pretty cool!

Why haven't we tapped into this ?  Or have we?   One would think that IF WE have these ties that USF should be able to tap into some of the resources(MONEY) Sponsorship  and naming rights on some of our facilities.( still waiting on the Sun Dome to be named something).

Maybe USF doesn't need any money or could it be MORE failure on Doug's part?

E.T I think most realize UPS snd USPS are two different things. One can hope :)

Now you know why UCF is so jealous of us.  Their grads go to work for ours.... "please keep your arms in the ride at all times"

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
