Word on the recruiting board is that Wanky Flowers has a similar skill set but is two inches taller and a better passer than BJ. So we might just get to see how BJ 2.0 does with CWT.

Assuming he sticks around

According to Bullwinkle he apparently reaffirmed his commitment and cancelled his remaining OVs, so it appears to be a good assumption. But nothing is really 100% until he signs on the dotted line...

BJ would have flourished in an offense catered to him. Leavitt even said he thinks he would have developed into a very very good QB in his system and him being the coach. The athlete of BJ Daniels is probably better than the QB BJ Daniels but that athletic ability was absolutely wasted under Skip Holtz. Sad but true story.

Shocking that Leavitt would think Daniels would have turned into a very good coach under him.  Shocking I say!

I figured Leavitt would say Daniels would have withered away.

The reality is that the Leavitt offensive "system" was little more than sandlot ball.  Leavitt knew how to build a defense (well Wally Burnham knew how to build a defense), but when the offense was reasonably good under Leavitt it was more by accident and the by product of a good defense.

You just must be a genius. The fact that Matt Grothe became the all time leader in Big East offense must be by accident and because of our defense at the time? Get a clue.

It would have been really fun to watch BJ with a full complement of competent, experienced receivers after his first year.

For the majority of his career here BJ never had more than one better than average true receiver on the field at the same time. He had to suffer through a tremendous number of dropped passes and bad routes. He really had to be a one man show more often than not.

In a sense, yes, Matt became the leader BECAUSE the offense was so bad.

Because Grothe's cast of characters was so weak, he had to run a lot more than most QB's. He also completed a lot of passes on scrambles, giving the receivers time to get open.

Confused...... You're saying he became the all time leader because his cast of characters around him was so bad yet I was disagreeing with the above that he became the all time leader in yards because our defense was so good?

He had to run a lot more than most QBs? Do you not remember how many DESIGNED runs we had for Grothe or read option plays?

Obviously BJ was used enough to be what, the number 3 total yards leader in Big East history and the only QB in USF history to be drafted.  That puts him ahead of players in the Big East record book such as Donovan McNabb, Marc Bulger, Geno Smith and Mike Vick.

BJ is 5'10" and Kaepernick is 6'4". But otherwise, similar size.

They're about as close in build as Egbunu and Jose Heath.

BJ is bigger than Russel Wilson.
