Did anyone else see that North Dakota State got 17 votes for top 25 in the AP poll......LEGIT

This is the FBS ranking. The year Appalachian State went into Ann Arbor and beat Michigan, the polls began allowing voters to include FCS schools. Appalachian State that year and a couple of other FCS teams since have cracked into the "others receiving votes" category, though none have ever actually cracked the top 25.

I think this was their 3rd national title? Or at least 2nd in a row? They absolutely shut down Kansas State to start the year too, it was fun watching them. And K State went on to be a legit team and crushed Michigan in the BWW Bowl.

 

Their coach has moved on to Wyoming, so we'll see if the guy that stepped in for them (I believe they promoted their DC) can continue the success.

Maybe, but there's a huge difference between 17 people thinking that they are a top 25 team and maybe one yahoo thinking that they are #18 in the country
