I think you have to delay enrollment to take a grey shirt (which would use up a year for him) but I don't know for sure. It could be that they initially thought he would be eligible next year, but because he practiced (assuming he did) with Wake this year he would have to not only miss this year but sit out next year as his x-fer year?  Don't really know for sure. Either way, if they just had a plan to save him a year of eligibility, I don't think that would be considered a "glitch".
