So we were in the mix for this kid versus Appy State? I sure hope this winds up being a diamond-in-the-rough. I hope this kid is more like Jacquain Williams rather than Weatherspoon, as JuCo transfer linebackers go.

 

 

According to Scout he has offers from Arizona St and West Virginia as well.

According to Rivals he has offers from Arizona St, Oklahoma St, West Virginia among others

and basic same list for 24/7

Doesn't sound like he is committed.  Kid isn't too bright if he can't pick easily between those two schools...

 

Edit:  Yikes, its always depressing to read these kids' tweets but his are especially desperate and attention-starved.  Sounds like this kid needs someone to talk to.

!st, the kid is prolly 17. 2ndly his need for attn may be an indicator of things he was deprived of growing up. 3rd, judging  someone based on 140 characters is the anathema of everything you guys have been ranting about.

 

I have coached a lot of kids over the years and it's always a mixed bag. Some need different levels of attn and different motivation than others. Some of the best athletes that ever played for me were head cases coming in the door. They were teachable though and over tim took on team leadership roles and excelled in responding to coaching. Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water.

 

I hardly think giving a kid the benefit of the doubt is pandering. In fact, I think working with a kid that needs that attention is commendable.
