How do we know those .2 views on ESPNNews didnt all switch over to ESPN when the game was switched channels. We got to pretty much stick with the .8 on this one using just ESPN instead of ESPNews. As for FAU/FIU, not only is it a game no one cares about, it's on an off network. When we were negotiating TV deals last year I kept saying stay on ESPN somehow, someway. Those other networks just don't draw well, and we can't be stuck in that position

It's not a bad rating, considering the game jumped channels, but I thought it'd be better.

It's not a bad rating, considering the game jumped channels, but I thought it'd be better. Remember, ESPNews is in about 24 Million LESS homes than ESPN. (98 Million households for ESPN and 74 Million households for ESPNews) Add that the game started almost 20 mins late...and it didn't start on the scheduled network (scheduled for 8 pm on ESPN...didn't start till appox 8:20 pm on ESPNews) and it wasn't carried on ESPN till almost an hour after its scheduled start because of the Duke/Arizona hoop game started/ended WAY late... getting 1.2 Million people to find/watch this game was a good number. If this game would have started at 8 pm on ESPN...no doubt the numbers would have been hirer, maybe a lot higher.
