I think that Memphis would not have been invited if it wasn't for the BB team.

And this opinion is based on ....?

Their academics aren't great and their TV market isn't huge. BB gives them prestige and a fan base.  If UAB had a great BB team with the following Memephis does, I would think they would have a just as good a chance and they even have a larger tv market.

- CUSA teams demonstrated that they can stand up against the old Big East teams (Louisville being the outlier)

Cincinnati didn't lose to any of the former CUSA teams this year, so not really sure how Louisville is the outlier in this example when they lost to UCF (CUSA) and UC's losses were to USF ("Old Big East") and Illinois (B1G)

Rutgers is an AAU school, tier 1 university and has part of the NYC and NJ TV market.

Will they be able to compete in the B1G in Football and Basketball next season?

They will be fine. We played Michigan State close (#2 Big 10 team). Their basketball is overrated too minus 3 teams.

They are going to buy a TV audience? Or pay people not to chuckle when they call the football team 'tigers'?  I fail to see how that got them into the AAC. Bribes? That's like saying EA Sports got UCF into the AAC.

If those type things really bother you, you should be targeting Tulane first ....

Tulane is a tier 1 university. And an AAU member.

Define "part." :D I think the B1G is banking on Rutgers' future midwest competition bringing more eyeballs to Rutgers football, but that's a big gamble in my opinion.

Came out in 2011.

What's the source for that table? Based on activity at the alumni bars, I don't think that the chart is accurate. UF has a very large following in NYC. From what I hear, Alabama draws a ton of fans, as well.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
