Fans are unhappy. . . . . thus the empty seats.

Let's call the athletics department what it really is these days . . . . . . . a moribund, poorly ran program that is shrinking (Chris Freet wasn't sufficiently replaced and I don't think Bill McGillis has been replaced though he left four months ago).  It is total bunker mentality these days as the department budgets its existence on a severance package it HOPES to collect by getting dumped by the BE.

In addition, the product has been so crummy that many fans, alumni and supporters who buy season tickets can't or won't sacrifice the one true commodity in life on this reeling program . . . . . . . which is their time.

Bunker mentality is contagious. . . . . . . the AD hides in his office like its hitler's last days, yet we wonder why attendance stinks.

Where is the good news Doug?  if there's no good news, give us the straight scoop and tell us what USF is doing about it. . . . . . . otherwise GTFO.

Have a great weekend guys!!!!

LOL ... Thank you for taking some of your one true commodity to post that enlightening message.

A complaint of this size has no value without providing at least a few suggested solutions.

THAT's funny - a complaint this size - :roflmao:  -  if we only had solutions to 1/4 of the complaints on here.

Doug was at both the men's game on Saturday night and the women's basketball game last night, but then you wouldn't know that, since you weren't there!

Saved me the trouble. He gave us some tix for floor seats at the men's game.  Saw him the next night at the ladies game.

To the rest of your post. The crummy product meaning the football team under a new head coach and new offensive and defensive schemes???  Or the men's basketball team that just added a top 25 recruiting class with 3 of them seeing lots of floor time already and a top shooting guard coming in for next year???  Or the women's basketball team that hung in there with #8 Maryland and plays hard for all 40 minutes???   No, we aren't competing for national championships but, then, only a handful of teams in the country really do that.

Ricky, bubbi, you know that athletic department is code for football team here at USF. So what if many of our sports annually compete in post season tournaments.

FWIW Doug was at a few soccer games this year as well.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
