I was talking about Leavitt.  Skip never used his timeouts.  I remember the Jimmer calling time outs before kick offs in the past.

 

Edit: And I was trying to avoid another thread hijacking and purposely just left it as USF old time stuff instead of mentioning a coaches name.

Even the announcers were dumbfounded by the call.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. I won't jack the thread either, but I felt our last 3 years had some pretty awful moments.

I don't know if that is why he took the timeout, but we were ready for the onside kick before the timeout was taken.

We were lined up 15 yards off instead of the 10 that is required.  After their timeout, our guys lined up correctly 10 yards off the ball.  It wasn't something he didn't like but something he liked.  Unfortunately for him, our guys corrected it after their timeout and the rest is history.

From what I was seeing they were lined up 15 back and then someone on the field started waving his teammates up to the 10 yd spot.  That is when they called timeout.  They would have had a much better shot at recovery before the timeout IMO.  We looked a bit disorganized.
