"We were never good" is just so unbelievably pathetic. Total losers mentality.

We beat FSU, Auburn, WVU, Miami, UL, and Notre Dame.

Have some pride people.

Woolard hired Skip and extended him. If you don't want him fired for those actions - What will it take?

A search firm found Holtz. Woolard fired Holtz. It will take a lot more than misinformation on a fan website.

Let me make it clear. Coaches, not ADs, win/lose games.

Way to make it even more pathetic.

A search firm hired him, so Doug's not responsible?!! No, Doug's actually the hero that saved us from Skip. What a joke.

As if we needed a search firm to find Skip Holtz. Like he was some unheard of gem that had to be 'found'.

A search firm found the best candidates that USF could afford. Holtz was in the group. I'd say 99% of the media and fanbase agreed with the hire. He sure has a better resume going into the job at USF than CWT did.

What's joke are the hindsight observations.

Accountability necessarily involves hindsight - Genius.

Like you are applying it objectively. Find one news article about how bad the decision was to hire Hotlz at the time. Try Google's excellent news archives. Just one. If you can't do that then the hiring was good, case closed.

Can we all agree that the time for Doug to get fired has come and gone?  If Doug gets fired, Willie T goes too, and then we pay a 3rd coach, not to mention if Doug has a buyout clause in his contract.

Yes, the Holtz hire was the right move at the time.  It didn't work out, and on a downward trend, yes, Woolard gave Holtz an unfortunate extension.  Huge strike against him.  However, Holtz got rightfully canned and Taggart, who has brought a program back from the dead, was a good hire based on his past.

If it crashes and burns like Holtz did, I think it's a pretty safe bet Woolard gets fired too, but we won't know for at least 2-3 more years, so let's just move on from firing Doug at this time.

No. The hiring was HORRIBLE. It wrecked our football program. I think you are misunderstanding.

I was in support of the Holtz hire.

I am in support of firing Woolard.

These are not mutually exclusive.

Woolard's future is tied to the success or failure of Taggart.

^^ You know, if the other teams wouldn't tease the blazes out of us for thinking we were serious, that War Flamingo is hilarious...I love it!

um, yeah, sorry for the distraction. I definitely agree Woolard is bound to the success/failure of CWT at this point.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
