If we have a running game, which I think we will, the QB position will not be a problem.

Ultimately, I think it's going to be the depth at corner and the defense against the passing game. If we have that covered, we'll be a good team (good as in making a bowl).

Will we score a lot of points? Probably not. Impotent offense? Nothing like last year after B.J. got hurt.

Remember, we've never had any kind of running game since Andre Hall.

I had to look it up, but we were 4-7 and 6-6 the two years Andre Hall was here and we don't have a RB on the roster as good as Andre Hall.

We won't be able to hide our quarterback behind a running game.  Teams will just stack the box against us.

This is a rebuilding year people expecting a bowl game are most likely going to be disappointed when the team is likely to win just 4 or so games.

We had a good running game '06-'08 with various combinations of Mike Ford, Jamar Taylor and Ben Williams. Over 2000 yds in '07-08'.

Abosolutely.  We didn't have an Andre Hall, but opponents still had to respect our ability to run the ball.

Matt grothe was the leading rusher in 06, 07 and 08. The guys you mentioned were good at times but inconsistent.

True. But it's not as though we couldn't line up in an i-formation, as is suggested by the OP.
