USF Announces Football Radio Team, Affiliates

TAMPA – The USF football radio team is back for another exciting season and features a new addition to the staff.

 

USF game broadcasts will again be aired on 98.7-FM The Fan, the Bulls’ flagship station, along with 1010-AM WHFS with Jim Louk (play by play) and Mark Robinson (analysis) returning for their 17^th season.  The staff welcomes the addition of new sideline reporter Alex Perlman.

 

Jim Lighthall and Justin Pawlowski will again serve as the USF football broadcast’s pregame and postgame hosts with Paul Roper serving as the network studio host. All games will feature a two-hour pregame show in Tampa and a one-hour pregame show on network affiliates.

 

Louk and Robinson also return as hosts for the Willie Taggart Radio Show that airs on Monday’s during the fall starting Aug. 26 on 98.7 The Fan and 1010-AM WHFS from 6-7 p.m. Fans also can catch Taggart’s show on 104.3-FM WYKE in Inglis/Homosassa, 1460-AM WZNZ in Jacksonville and 880-AM WZAB in Miami.

So no word on a  tv show like Skip and Leavitt had?

 

There will probably be one, this announcement really just concerned the radio portion of our broadcasts.

 

Ft. Meyers might be able to get the AM out of Miami, but I have never tested that, so I don't know.

 

Honestly, lots of good news here. First, it is great to have a FM flagship (I know it was there last year too, but still a positive) ... and lots of credit to Jim Louk and IMG for keeping so many stations around the state on board given our on the field results the last couple seasons.

Ok. I didn't think it got that far south.

No satellite options?

 

 

 

I bet we will be on satellite most games, if not all. But it isn't something we set up on a season long basis like a radio network.

 

The way I understand it is that pretty much most games are available to satellite radio, and they pick the ones they want .... sometimes we will be on, and they will use Jim Louk and Mark Robinson's call, and sometimes it will be the opponents radio call. I could be wrong, but if you want to hear the games on satellite, you might just have to wait for the week of the game to know for sure.

Glad they hooked up some FM radio station affiliates.  AM stations are next to useless at nighttime unless you're right by the AM stations' antennas.

98.7 fizzles out at just about northern North Port. Anybody know if 98.7 will actually be able to stream games this year through apps like TuneIn?

Not sure about tune in but cbs has their own radio app. I listened to it last year to get radio in the house before I got internet hooked up. They also have a live stream you can listen to.

The games were not broadcast, though, if I recall correctly. Best bet, if you can swing it, is to get BullsVision and the iBulls app .... Not flawless but better than nothing.
