I was reading up about all the changes in CUSA and noticed upstart program UTSA which is headed into that conference as a 3 year old program. BTW, they now hold the records for the most attending a school's first football game and average attendance for a football team's first year, at least one of which USF previously held.

Anyway, for such a new program they have signed multi-year deals with Arizona, Arizona St,  Texas A&M, Okl State and Baylor. Is it a location thing or their being thought of as a cupcake?

Are the deals 2 for 1's or 3 for 1's?

As Tip said, cupcake game and location doesn't hurt for those midwest schools. Now if UTEP beats some of these teams, then they'll be in our shoes and nobody will want to play them.

I wouldn't be too jealous though, we have Mich State and Miami this year and:

FSU, Maryland, Wisconsin, NC State, Indiana all coming in the next 2 years.

I'd say we're doing just fine.

Proximity-wise I would love to get ahold of  UF (They owe us), Clemson, Georgia/GT, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Miss State, Bama, Wake some day in the future

cupcake.

As for scheduling goes, USF didn't start off to shabby either. By year 3 we opened the season at SDSU,  Year 4 we played at Baylor, Southern Miss, and UConn,(WE WON) Year 5 we played Pitt (which we won BTW). Year 6 we played a heavy Conf USA schedule went 9-2  got snubbed from the Hawaii Bowl.  Year 7 played Alabama(the start of playing the Big Boys and our first year in Conf USA as a member)

Some are. Okl state is 1/1.

I thought it impressive that year two they went to the WAC and went 8-4.

UTSA will probably catch up to us pretty soon if we don't start winning.

I wouldn't mind seeing UTSA on our away schedule. I'd like to have a reason to visit San Antonio. Georgia State is another program that I'd to see grow into an away schedule worthy opponent just to weaken the Ga Tech/ACC hold on Atlanta.

Their coach and program designer has a little more experience than ours.
