Probably half of TBP membership wouldn't be here.

Is there a reason they only have 2 home games?

Beats me. I didn't know they had football until I saw the Chamberlain coach resigned and went over there to be wr coach.

Then we would still howl and whine about not having an OCS and how god-awful it is to have to play our games at Legion Field, in Lake Wales (courtesy of the fine folks in parks and recreation). Maybe sharing the filed with other football enterprises limits their availability? And I agree...TBP would, if it even existed, would be considerably smaller.

on a related note...

NOTE: The game against West Alabama on Sept. 19 at Palm Bay High School's Pirate Stadium will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network at 8 p.m. ET.

What if the U of SF had started at THIS LEVEL!  We wouldn't even be able to see the P5 from where we'd be standing!

Good school. My niece, the one you met, was accepted there, but tuition was too much and she determined the ROI wasn't worth it.

Not an exciting schedule, to be sure, but apples to oranges.

Warner: Private, Christian, Lake Wales, 1100 Students.

USF: Public, State, Tampa, 40000+ students.

They didn't have a pro football hall of famer pushing their program. They didn't state (to my knowledge), that their aim is to compete in the highest level of football. I'm sure they're content playing safe, family friendly, by the book, sportsmanlike football. Or, as we now know it, Skippyball.

With that said, they do have six D1 schools on their inaugural schedule. While they're not playing top-level FCS teams, does it really matter? Would we have won a National Championship already if only we had beaten The Citadel in '97? The outcome of Mercer vs. Southern Virginia will mean just as much.

If we started out with their schedule, we'd probably be close to the same place. But like I said before, different expectations. We wouldn't have built a schedule like that because we wanted some exposure to some of the better teams at our level of football.
