A 14-year old kid died after impaling himself on the horn of a bull statue on the Texas Tech campus ... should we be concerned about our statues?

A 14-year-old West Texas boy is dead after he ran into a bull statue on the Texas Tech University campus and impaled himself on one of its horns.

University spokesman Chris Cook said Miguel Martinez impaled himself while playing hide-and-seek with friends in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday morning.

Martinez' mother Judith Leseburg said her son was spending the night with his best friend, Jeremy, before the tragic accident.

fixed :)

I think our statues are mainly in places where you shouldn't be climbing and are decenly tall..and the spanish bull horns are much smaller than a longhor..welp...just saw that was Texas Tech..wtf do they have a bull statue for anyway.

When I was there with my kids, the fountains weren't running so I let my kids walk in there and stand next to the bull for a pic. My kids are young but I can totally see older kids running around in there goofing off.

Heard a crazy story two days ago. 9th grade kid playing basketball on concrete tripped and hit the concrete so hard he died right there on the court. Should we be concerned?

No one wakes up thinking today will be my last day on earth.

If you've seen the statues outside the Marshal Center, compared to the UT Longhorn statues, the Bulls' horns are no where near that long or sharp

If they do, it is their problem.
