USF was mentioned the last three years, even picked by AA to win it last year.

All that matters is what happens on the field.  I still find it hard to believe that UCF can compete for the title.

Well, their recruiting has been seen as at least as good as USF in recent years. OLeary, while he is not popular with USF fans has been the CUSA, ACC and FBS coach of the year. with more than one conference championship. You think he can win the ACC over FSU in its prime in the 90s and not win this conference?

They're probably putting a lot of stock into the returning qb's for those 3 teams. too ...

Their recruiting has been dreadful, for the most part.  Not even close to USF over the last five years.  The last two years it has been a little better, but nothing to write home about.  They have lost to some very mediocre teams.  It is possible they could beat us this year because we are rebuilding, but they aren't remotely scary.

What he did 20 years ago with Ga Tech isn't relevant.  Different players, different recruiting, different assistant coaches, on and on.  He should have been able to do more with UCF than he has.

What? In 8 seasons UCF has won 2 CUSA titles, 4 division championships and Oleary was CUSA coach of the year 3 times. Who has done more in CUSA during his tenure? I wish USF had the same record in the Big East.

You really comparing the old Big East to the old CUSA?  Bradenton Manatee could have done pretty well in CUSA.

Did you forget that while UCF was destroying CUSA and USF was mediocre in the Big East, USF was 4-0 over UCF and it wasn't close?

This pretty much sums it up

But add to that... one of the years that they won the CUSA championship was the 64-12 beat down.

USF not mentioned as a contender. Probably realistic but sucks. Then again, being voted the second school in the Big East didn't work out well for USF, can only hope the same for UCF.

usf has remains stuck in the mud

with no great qb coming in there is little hope

I still find it hard to believe that UCF can compete for the title.

Agreed.
