Nothing's ever been officially said one way or the other ...

I'm worn out with "hope" basketball. Hope basketball lasted 20 years and then got paid off with the Tournament wins.

Now, I don't want to start another 20 years. Just win and we'll talk.

I've decided I'm staying too.

BTW, I think Hawkins will become a very good player. Why would he leave? I never heard such an idea.

I am just guessing, but I'll say one guy transfers away and one gets rejected by the academic committee. If both don't happen, I think Stan can pull his son's scholarship and pay his tuition.

The other question that comes to mind whenever a kid transfers ... was it the kid wanting to leave or the coach wanting them to leave. Transfers happen for both reasons.

I won't name names, but I remember stories of coaches who would want to move out players who they inherited from the previous head coach. Sometimes the coach is blunt, "Lets talk about finding a school where you can play" other times coaches will just make life miserable for a kid and hope they get homesick. APR is the thing that keeps this from getting to crazy.

Good to hear. Now, while you're at it, go get us some info on conference realignment.

So AAC basketball is going to come down to USF, Memphis, Cincy, and UCONN?  Where's Temple?

We still have the Cards for one more year, they'll add some punch.

Anybody else going to be worth a damm?

Not to often you can say that a guy's strengths are also his weaknesses, but that is the case with Corey Allen. By the many conversations from observers on his play and by Allen's own account, he's a guy that is an extremely hard worker(gym rat), a guy with a chip on his shoulder, and a guy that isn't afraid of competition. As Heath hinted at it, expect to see a lot of Allen and  on the floor together. Remember Allen is a great FT shooter so that will come in handy late in close games.

Allen is just like the Heath described, a very quick and fast guy that can make the game easier for others. He got his backcourt mate a scholarship to Hawaii even though he is a poor ball handler for a guy that's 6ft or less. However because defenses were designed to contain Allen, it allowed his backcourt mate to shot 47% from 3pt range. Despite being only 6ft tall, Allen is an elite level athlete that can easily play above the rim with the ability to make  acrobatic shots by hanging and gliding to the basket. To shot 62% from the field as a guard is just outstanding on any level especially with the defense catered to stop you.

Now the weakness I spoke of is that Allen sometimes is to confident in his 1-on-1 ability and can get caught trying to do to much off the dribble and force things when they are just not there. He will definitely need to be coached up to understand to understand how to read and react better to what the opposing defenses are doing. Also he will have to get use to playing against true big men where they will block his shot and/or knock him to the ground when forces himself into the lane. JC ball out west is more known for their guards and open floor style play then having a lot if Bigs.
