In the old days of the Big East, win and you got respect. Win and you could get to a BCS bowl, like Louisville did this year. And this was how we got to #2 for three minutes during the regular season. Now, let's say all that we can count on is a schedule of football teams to play each week, whoever those teams may be and whatever the conference calls itself when it is all said and done. Fine. It looks to be inevitable, like it or not. My question is this. If USF wins, and I do mean win with great seasons, can USF still get ranked and get to good bowls? I guess I'm trying to figure out of winning is still rewarded after all the conference shuffles and all of that. Yes, all the big programs are trying to hoard up all the money. No doubt about that. But can they have a monopoly on everything? Does USF still control its own success with winning football?

Winning, 2. Winning easily.

But, with the weakened BE, we are officially out of potentially making the playoff even with an undefeated team. A Big 5 team will always jump us even with 1 or possibly 2 losses depending on the team and their schedule. Edited January 5, 2013 by CPR

NOW top 4 get in, and the other bowls in the top tier (Orange, Rose, Fiesta and many others) have already negotiated deals with other conferences for those who don't qualify for the playoffs. Soooo to sum it up, if we DON'T get into the playoffs, we will end up in a crap bowl most likely, because NOBODY wants to take the BE teams first... We have no good Bowl tie-ins, and are left hoping for a good place to land if we don't FINISH top 4...

Win out and we wont be denied. But lets take it one game at a time, a yearly trip back to the bowls and a few BE or whatever conference Championships. Bowls are all up for renewal in the near future anyway. We should be able to keep most ties if not add a few more destintaions with the NEW Members coming on board.
