Big East now can't hang it's hat on basketball (pretty much sole reason for inviting Memphis and Temple) or football...

Per USA Today it's official. The bball schools are gone. BIg East is done pretty much.

Just in time for the beginning of the Big East Conference schedule for hoops. It's a going away tour, I advise anyone thinking about it to jump at the chance to see Gtown, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Louisville, Nova and UCONN hoops in our house. It will be a long time until we see a home schedule like this ever again.

I can assure you they are not. Just because they aren't calling you every night with updates doesn't mean they haven't been trying.

This. We will be saved when the ACC is poached again, which will happen. Hold your ground.

Just axe the football program and pour all of the football money into basketball. Watch your back Duke.

Or just do an athletic department split. Let the basketball program remain somewhat relevant, and let football program go play in the MEAC of Southland conference. To much money has been put into the basketball program to let it just go to waste.

You people are on crack, because our bball team has been SO GREAT since it's inception....

If you think dropping football or down sizing it will be good at all for USF then go and talk to Stetson, Saint Leo, and UT... they did this and now all are trying to bring football back, with Stetson being the first to get it back.

Dropping football was good for St. Leo. Playing on a soccer field to no interest against unknown teams accomplished nothing other than increased expenses. If we end up at that level, we should shutter the program as well
