  1. Looks like, kind of, well lame. One big A with a star in it. They had all of that time to come up with a website and that is what they launch with. Strong Stable United and Competitive . All things we are not. I think Big City or Metro were better descriptors. All in to win (and get out) .
  2. CUSA owns the Heart bowl so that is out. Hawaii to expensive (our cost projections just for airfare for the team and band 1,000,000) let Cusa pay it. (no one will go) Little Caesars would be a tough sell for a southern league and it sits right in the MAC foot print with the #1 pic I doubt they would want us.
  3. Also I don't want to play the top team in CUSA, MAC, or SunBelt unless its our top team. We can only loose those games. A win is because we are better a loss means the whole conference is sucks. So no MWC#1 vers AAC#1. Also the AAC names is terrible AMC would have been better.
  4. Lets talk what we can get. Here is the current 2013-14 Bowl slate. So what bowls are up for grabs? I would think any CUSA bowls are on the block. That being said how many do you want? Hawaii? Boise? I think not. How many tie in do we need? I would think as many as CUSA has so 5 primary and 2 alternates. Based on that we need to add the Military, Liberty(full time) and Bell. Local bowls no brainers not a lot of competition for those. That would give us Beefs vers USA, Military vers ACC, Bell vers MWC, Liberty vers SEC, BBVA vers SEC. Maybe some secondary arrangements. Not great bowls, but local enough for good turn outs. Hopefully we can worm our way in to some bigger bowls who don't want ACC number 7 and would be ok with AAC number 1. 5. Yea I know those guys from my years at the Sundome. I saw Jack last year at a USF game. He still in town. I was trying to get them to do a reunion show. I haven't heard from Lumpy /Sean but I think he is still around. Hope all is good with you Mike.
  6. Kevin is right this is the line up we need to roll with East USF UCF UConn Cincy Temple Navy ECU Memphis West Houston SMU Boise State San Diego State Fresno State UNLV Air Force (or BYU) Tulane It would clearly place this new conference as the 6th best conference and would provide some good TV markets. Navy & Air Force for football only. Might want to look at New Mexico instead of Fresno as well. If Air Force says no take Fresno at football only. This could very easily work. The only wrinkle is baseball Boise and Smu don't have teams.
  7. At the end of the day we still will have 9 all sport teams and 4 football that are the best of what is left from the Big 5 .That still has value to the networks. The B-ball schools are the ones long term that will get hurt. They are trading stabilty for money and prestige. The reality is football drives the bus and we have Willy T at the wheel.
  8. The confrence that needs to worry is A10 they are going to get raided big time.
  9. On the football side it changes nothing if Boise and SDU want to go back to 800,000 a year for sports they can but even without the B-ball schools our contract will be better than that. Heck CUSA got 2 million. MWC has no markets. While we will take a hit it won't be the end of the world. It just comes down to who gets the auto b-ball bid, name and the NCAA credits. Now b-ball will take a hit but really Georgetown, Villinova, St Johns and Marqutte are the only b-ball schools worth much. The other 3 are no better than UCF. So we take a hit but we have 9 big market schools left to build on.
  10. Looks like its going to be offical. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/college/basketball/big_east_basketball_only_schools_c2PMii2vTg8twF80US3G6H These guys have been right on the money on internal Big East issues. So the next question is what happens now and who keeps the name.
  11. Brian I'm shocked you don't know who I am. I'll give you a hint. Reaper.. As for brining Death Row back it would be tough. We were that good .
  12. Their are still a couple of us old Death Row folks lurking on this board. We sure did cause alot of havoc in those days. By the way Mike was ok with us he was just responding from concerns from the conference.
  13. I guess it fair to mention that we won the Sun Belt Conference in 1989 I believe and went to the tourney. Our next trip was an at large bid in 1990 or 1991.
  14. If the proof is in the pudding then its interesting that their are 4 Big East teams of of 8 possible teams left in the NIT. That says alot about how the Big East got the shaft from the NCAA tourney.
