take it FWIW but my cousin on the team(plays Offense) said we are looking at Florida's LB coach as a potential DC.

edit: had to look him up, DJ Durkin http://www.gatorzone...ll/staff/durkin would be kind of a stretch to me since he's never been a DC before and honestly don't know what kind of recruiter he is, but seems like him and Taggart crossed paths at Stanford.

You must be smoking crack if you think this guy is a stretch. This would be a homerun hire.

Durkin would be a great hire recruiting wise and is looking to make the next step in his career to calling plays. I wouldn't be surprised to see UF open up the wallet to keep him though. This is the second best realistic hire IMO

lol All is forgiven sir! :) His name was being tossed around here before you posted that, which makes me a tid bit excited. Hoping his connecting with Coach T is enough to get him to jump ship since he's being paid extremely well for what he does over there.

LOL oops didn't read back to see that he's been posted on here already. He's getting paid 340K(don't know if thats been posted as well haha) so it would probably take 400K and up to get him. Funny because UF plays tonite so would kind of make sense if it was him and he'd be announced tomorrow.

edit: just read the last couple of pages, seems he has been covered lol. oh well doesn't hurt to repeat it.

400k for a first year DC....

That's a lot of cash...I know we are saving a good amount with our OC hire but man...I am hoping we can steal him for a bit less than that, even if he just takes a DC here for a few years and heads off to DC/HC elsewhere. I guess I'm half hoping the position name itself will be enticing with a smaller raise. Or that he owes Coach T a favor LOL

I'm just wondering how good of a coach he is. I get he's a great recruiter but we need plays on the field.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
