Strange that Pete Roussel would bury this under Georgia State's entry in his "Coaching Carousel" update, but the former BC coach still lives in Tampa (following his dismissal by former Bucs coach Raheem Morris a few years back) and appears to be interested in the USF job. He has totally flown under the radar and could be a "dark horse" option. Thoughts?

Interesting. His offense did get Matt Ryan a top 5 draft pick.

Here's his Wikipedia entry. 20-8 in two seasons as head coach at BC, while Matt Ryan was there.

Sorry mods, misspelled his name, should read "Jagodzinski". Got to practice my Polish names...

He'd be a guy that I'd be okay with. I can't call him a retread since he left BC for the NFL, seems like he had some things going - but somewhat hard to gauge when he had solid running game and Matt Ryan - would have wondered how he'd fare without Ryan

I wouldn't be okay with him. I am still trying to figure out "HOW" he became a head coach.....because it didn't sound like he knew actually how to coach.

The first sign of problems with Jeff Jagodzinski came early in training camp.

At times, the communication was too slow, resulting in delay of game penalties. Too often, Jagodzinski would look at the down and distance and determine on which hash mark the ball was spotted but reverse the formation. Or there would be only a partial play-call.

Before coming to the Bucs, Jagodzinski had limited experience as a play-caller. As the Packers' offensive coordinator, head coach Mike McCarthy made most of the play selections. At Boston College, he relied on former East Carolina coach (and current Bucs running backs coach) Steve Logan as offensive coordinator.

Um, yeah. As I recall, he somehow incredibly lucked into the BC head coaching job despite never being a coordinator. He had some good assistants there, so his record looked pretty good which he parlayed into a a job interview with the Jets. He was warned not to interview, but he did anyway and BC fired him immediately. That tells you how little they thought of him. Then he goes to the Bucs as OC and is so dreadfully unable to coordinate that he gets fired before the season starts.

No. No. And NO!

Please delete this thread as it has no validity due to his non existent credentials ala George O Learys masters degree.
