Probably going to cost us an arm and a leg Had wins vacated (academic issues? I don't know the full story)

He dealt with sanctions, but those sanctions were from the Dennis Erickson era at Miami. He'd give us the best chance of possibly getting Shannon to come on as DC. The only career opportunity currently on the table is working as a "special assistant" toTampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano, a former Davis assistant at Miami. But Davis is ready for the next round of job openings, armed with the NCAA's March ruling that doesn't cite him for wrongdoing. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8172946/butch-davis-hoping-coach-college-again

Can he coach this next season with no loss of money? He'll lose the money UNC is paying him now. From what I understand the Buccaneers were prepared to offer him a spot on the staff, but that would have relieved UNC from their financial obligation. He felt he was wrongly terminated and wanted them to have to continue paying him.

Can he coach this next season with no loss of money? I think he maybe a serious candidate Coach Davis' Employment Agreement calls for the University to immediately pay him $270,417. Before the end of the calendar year 2011, the University will pay Coach Davis (a) an additional $13,083, which is the pro rata share of his retention bonus, plus (an additional $650,000 in supplemental compensation payments. That's a total 2011 payment of $933,500. The University will owe Coach Davis an additional $590,000 each January 15, starting in 2013 and concluding in 2015. These amounts would be reduced by any compensation that Coach Davis might earn for coaching in a college or professional program. http://www.wralsport...ogpost/9922641/ Edited December 4, 2012 by deters-
