Should have built into the contract severance reduced by 10% for each game lost in the previous 12 games prior to date of termination, or maybe receive 10% of severance for each game won in the previous 12 games. It's almost better to be fired "without cause" than to stay employed. The Hillsborough County BOCC pissed and moaned about Pat Bean's "golden parachute", then turned right around and gave Mike Merrill pretty much the same thing.
