I want to see FSU players laid out. Im serious. Not hurt or anything really dirty obviously, but we need to send a message. A Sam Barrington type hit in the last minute of the Nevada game is what Im talking about. Something clean but mean. If he gets up within 3 minutes, you didnt hit him hard enough. Think of the Reggie Bush hit where he buckled to his knees. We cannot allow them to come into our building and leave cleanly, especially not when so many of their fans will be there. They are going to do it to us. If you watch the Wake Forest game again, they had plenty of extra curricular hits that didnt get flagged. I assume this is because they were at home. But they did not hold back and WF players were hitting the dirt even when passes were overthrown. There was contact on EVERY throw, regardless of whether there was a catch or not. This is what Im talking about.

For those unfamiliar with the RB hit:

We don't play close enough to receivers to knock them down. Other than Webster and Baker.

Still remember seeing Lejiste plaster Tavarres Pressley! Hit of the year. Unfortunately I don't think Pressley ever played again.

I really hope this is a made up post

Seriously ... I can't believe a D1 coach would say something like that, can't be for real.

Not a made up post at all. He was on the skip holtz radio show yesterday 6-7pm. Refered to pressure on QB as 'twisting' and I just happened to listen when a caller asked the question about QB pressure.

I'm paraphrasing skip here but,

'We tried that at Nevada and their guy took off for 35 yards.'

So apparently Gary nova is equal to cody fajardo in that department?

Weak sauce

No Skip. It's because your middle linebacker is fat, slow, weak, small, and has no ball sense. Did I mention that he's fat?

these are the types of answers that just dont fly. You cannot honestly be the head coach of a d1 respectable program and say something like. We tried that and it didnt work vs nevada. This is embarassing.

Kragholtz has neutered the program in a little over 2 years.

I was initially on board with the hire. However, what infuriates me is that our AD gave this clown a contract extension after a 5-7 season. Unlike other programs, we don't have the resources to cut him loose after this season and bring in a proven coach. So unfortunately, we're going to be stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

For the sake of the program, I hope he can right the ship, however I don't see that happening.

I guess our coaches never learned the right times to blitz and not. What a waste of money it was hiring these fools.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
