Just like Daniels he has all the athletic talent in the world... but he just doesn't get the mental side of the game. what is mental about telling a 6'6" TE to catch a jump ball over a 5'10"corner? Maybe he has trouble with the route. Exactly... it's the route running that's the issue. Also, he's not very good at making adjustments when catching the ball. from inside the 5 yard line when they took him out to put dunkley in? you could draw his route with a stick in the dirt. any 10 year old could understand that.what adjustment do you need to make to out jump a 5'10" corner?they can't simplify his package and just use him inside the 10?give him 3 routes. the guy is a matchup nightmare. what about shields? he used to be deadly the few times we threw to him down the seam over linebackers. we don't use TEs at all. again I don't consider Landi a TE. he is a WR. what happened to the H-back? might be nice to have an extra blocker back there since our o-line doesn't get the job done. remember the kid Holtz brought with him from ecu?? we don't even field the position anymore. At fan fest, I specifically asked the TEs if they're going to get thrown to more this year and they all said yes. They said they were getting a lot of balls in practice. Who know what's going on inside this team. The OC's brain seizes up, he begins calling the same dozen plays alternating the strong side, and the HC is completely oblivious to what is going on as long as we are within a score. Or worse, the QB gets a multitude of plays in from the OC and proceeds to turn the game plan into sandlot football. Neither one is good and generally points to poor coaching and game/team management by the HC. This is the pattern over the last 2-1/2 years. Especially when you see 4 receivers in deep patterns

Who know what's going on inside this team. I always said that the TE was the most underutilized position in football. now the NFL has caught on. I don't expect ours to get 10-12 balls a game but 4 or 5 to keep a defense honest would be nice. they present a match up problem.

Not sure I've seen that mentioned anywhere on here yet. Sorry if old news. We need someone to step up and replace Sterling, he could be it. Not saying we don't have other capable receivers but this injury crap is nuts. I believed we are cursed.

I know you're sarcastic, but I've heard from multiple people that McFarland is just not good. Now, Sean Price I don't know. why did we rush to get him a hardship waiver if he is no good? why did UF put him on scholarship if he is no good? why did scout rate him a 4 star #12 TE in the country if he was no good? Yeah, no player than has ever gone to the University of Florida or been a four-star prospect on Scout has proved to be overrated and a bust. I have no idea about the guy, but assuming he must be good because he went to UF for a cup of coffee? Please.
