Wow. Whatever his problem was, it cried out for a permanent solution. Sad.

I went to high school with him, and knew his younger brother quite well. I didn't know OJ that well, but he seemed like a nice, genuine guy who was super excited about going to USC. I was sorry to see the trouble he got in there, and even sorrier to see this. He had incredible talent, and I know how much he meant to his family.

Even though he played for a rival school, OJ was one of my favorite high school players to watch.

He played a huge role in a game that took my football fandom to the next level.
