I thought most of the choices were interesting a helpful, for one reason or another. I wasn't too keen on Memphis, and I don't like the add of Temple. Since we were adding teams in the west, I'd have been more in favor of teams like Tulsa or Nevada. But I've seen this coming for a while. Temple recently turned down the opportunity to join the new CUSA/MW/whoever else merger. There would really only be one reason to do that. Obviously, this solves 2012 and sets up a conference championship game for 2013. I think we'll see Air Force join Navy by 2015. That would allow two teams to leave and still have a conference championship game. Or maybe the BE will add two more teams before then and get to 16. I think there will be more consolidation in the bigger conferences once the Big 12 TV rights deal expires. Ultimately, we still need to keep an eye on the ACC or (yuck) the Big 12. But in the meantime at least we have some stability. And I think the TV money will improve over what we have now.
