They are on a level playing field. Big East has 8 teams. the distribution of their sagarin's rankings are from 32 to 85. much narrower spread. more competitive conference. c-usa has 12 teams. the distribution of their rankings is from 10 to 183 much wider spread. less competitive conference. sorry but all conferences are not created equal. the Big East ranks as one of the best conferences as far as average team rankings every year because we have very few cupcakes. BTW saying that is like saying Alabama and Vandy are on a level playing field. or Ohio state and indiana are on a level playing field. or virginia tech and duke. it's a ridiculous statement. not all conferences are created equal. some are more competitive from top to bottom than others. In Leavitt era patterns were ran over the middle (usually wide open) but MG and BD usually missed them. I don't recall with MB. This year BD has seen and usually hit the pattern over the middle (awful pass against UM not withstanding). But it is usually a WR running a crossing pattern than a TE sitting down in a zone. Well why didn't our 6'5" QB do it? Oh and BTW that fade to McFarland was the saddest attempt of a fade EVER!!! That was underthrown by like 8 feet. It was almost intercepted but it was dropped. My son could've picked that off... and he's 10 months old. again, not calling for eveld... i think BJ is better... just stating an obvious flaw in our offense. There are only a few reasons it could be: -Staff doesn't trust BJ to throw over the middle -BJ doesn't want to or does not feel comfortable doing so -Simply isn't in the playbook Not saying you're calling for Eveld, I just hope everyone realizes it may not be BJ's fault for why we don't attack the middle with our TE's.
