Put in a contingency that if we lose aq status then the academy programs are carved out from exit fee and wait period. If this truly is the only issue, then why not? If we pick up BSU and the others then we should be fine with aq . The longer the BE waits the more unstable the conference becomes and the more likely programs in the conference will look for other options and programs outside the conference will not want to join. Wake up BE!

I am sure all of the schools have been officially invited. I suspect that they are mostly all on board but want to get the final pieces in place then announce the entire new conference set up. If one team says no, they have to consider backups.

My guess is everyone is waiting to see what Boise does, and if BYU is an option. Then the Service Academies will say yes, which will be followed by the CUSA members - though I'd bet a million they have all been talked to.

It is like interviewing candidates for a job. You offer to your best candidate but don't tell the next candidate yes or no until you see how your first candidate does. This realignment has many moving parts and if any one steps out of line, it could impact the rest of the options......

But then again, maybe I am giving the BE too much credit.

I sure would think it helps...... They cannot play BCS now, for the most part, so we become their best option.
