Thank goodness that game is over and USF came out with the victory. Best wishes to T-Rex, hope he gets better soon.

Their kick return game kept them in it. They also had 2 or 3 passes that the QB threw off his back foot and our corners took terrible angles otherwise it would have been picks (the second touchdown being one).

Our offense got stuck in the mud in the third, otherwise they looked impressive again. Short week. Looking forward to a great game in Pitt.

I think was a good game for the defense to have.  They will not be happy with themselves.  And they seemed to correct themselves pretty well in the second half outside of a single drive in the 3rd quarter that was built off two long passes.  I saw several throws that did hit for UTEP but that were pretty ill advised, but got to hand it to the lefty for hitting those throws.  

But things tightened up in the second half as witnessed by the single TD allowed as opposed to the 17 points allowed in the first half.  

I think they'll come out more aggressive on Thursday.  Part of me thinks they didn't want to come full bore because of the short week and the quality of the opponent.  

Despite the issues of this game, I feel better than I have in a long time going into a Thursday night game.  I think we have a lot more talent than Pitt and are better coached.  Hopefully the game won't even be close.

Looking back at some of the replays, it did appear that the QB was just throwing them up for grabs and they happened to connect.

I'm hoping the D wasn't being lazy in the first game because of the game coming up.  Better to play at 100% and put the game away early so offense and defense get an early breather.  Maybe your punt returner wouldn't have left on a stretcher.
