How do you block ads from popping up on this site?

I use Chrome... just installed the ad block add on and I don't see any ads on any site.

So it's just blank space where we're seeing the ads?

Yes.

To be clear, it's not a blank banner that we're seeing. It removes the relevant portion(s) of the page as if the ad was never added into the HTML. We don't see awkward empty banners sitting around everywhere. At least I don't on Firefox.

Yes.

I usually don't post about petty things, but this made me laugh. One of the ads on this website was to buy FIU Football season tickets. Now, I know this is a sports website, but how in the world can that be considered effective advertising?   ::)

I'm sure those ads are targeted ads based on what pages you go to/terms you search for. It wasn't like FIU said "Go put a banner on www.thebullspen.com"

I realize that, but I can tell you that I have not searched for anything FIU related in years (since we played them). That was a few computers ago for me. I think they posted it based upon college football searches, but that seems to generic to spend your advertising dollars on.

I saw a similar ad today on thebullrush website. $42 is a deal for Miami. It's a shame the support isn't there.

The UCF people will tell you that they are bringing 22,000 to the FIU game.

It's a good rivalry game, they should!

An ad the other day on the board was for Notre Dame Alumni watches. The only watching I want a Notre Dame alumni to be a part of comes with an ass-whooping on 9/3/2011. It's going to be the second coming of Rodney King on these fools!
