Mywan Jackson (Armwood HS) (UNC) transferring. Probably looking for a hardship waiver.

Jackson, Willis leaving UNC football program

By: Bill Cole

Published: August 05, 2011

Two more North Carolina football players, Mywan Jackson and Brandon Willis, have decided to leave the program, and three walk-on players have been given grants-in-aid.

Jackson is a junior cornerback and one of the most experienced players in the secondary. He has played in 18 games in his career, and he started five games last season, finishing with 20 tackles and three pass break-ups. Everett Withers, UNC's interim coach, said Jackson is leaving because of family concerns and wants to attend college nearer his home in Seffner, Fla.

"Mywan is working through some personal issues right now with his family, and he felt it was in his best interest to stay in Florida until he decides where to continue his education," Withers said in a statement.

"He indicated he would like to attend a school closer to his home, and we support his decision. I wish him nothing but the best."

Perhaps, Josh was referring to him, since he plays defense (CB) and is looking to go to a school close to his family.

A possible new defensive addition for #USF?

Interesting picture.

Ryne Giddins, Petey Smith, Angelo Hadley, Mywan Jackson

Seems like only Giddens made the smart choice by picking USF in the first place.  ;D

According to greg's twitter, he's interested in Miami, FSU, USF, and FIU.

Talked to USF coach Kevin Patrick, and we might not have a scholarship until the fall.

Ohio State transfer WR Louis has Bulls on short list

One more name to consider as the summer football endgame of roster comings-and-goings continues: Former Ohio State receiver James Louis, who is transferring after redshirting his only season with the Buckeyes, said Sunday night that USF is one of four in-state schools he's considering.

Louis, who said he had spoken with USF assistant Kevin Patrick, who recruited him out of high school in Delray Beach, said he plans to visit Miami and Florida International on Monday, with USF and Florida State as his other top choices. He's citing "family issues" in leaving Ohio State and said he wants to stay close to home as he chooses where he'll play this fall.

Louis would sit out the 2011 season and then have three years of eligibility. He said he did not think USF had any available scholarships until January -- it's unclear whether Sunday's news that Dontae Aycock and Brandon Wilkinson have left the team would change this -- and said he did not want to wait until spring to enroll at his new school.

Louis played high school football with USF safety Jon Lejiste, and said USF was in his top five coming out of high school, along with Ohio State, Florida, FSU and Miami. (He said the Gators aren't an option because of their coaching change). Louis said he hopes to make a decision by the end of this week -- USF won't be back on campus before then, but he could meet the Bulls in Vero, which is about 90 miles up the coast from Delray.

Personally I just wonder at this point if we would really have room for him. Sure you always take a 4 star recruit but even though we don't have a lot of "proven" WR......we have a lot of them. We actually have 16 roster slots listed as WR including Chris Dunkley. We have 3 of them leaving after this season, Love, Hornes and Joel Miller. Then we have 2 recruited in LaMarlin Wiggins (hope he qualifies) and Rayshawn Jenkins. Plus we are still hoping for D'Vario Montgomery.

If this kid really wants to be closer to home in Delray Beach.....he probably opts for UM or FIU. USF is a 4 hour drive and much less FSU is an 8 hour drive......wheras both UM and FIU are about an hour away.

I don't know the difference in games between Louis and Montgomery but if Louis wants to come then dump Montgomery talk altogether.  We need home run threats period.  Transfer or recruits I would love to have an Andre Hall 2.0 or an Amarri Jackson Louisville game.
