Since I can't read the title to the thread I can't tell if this is a serious thread.  Part of the confusion comes from me watching the guy drop 5 passes and throw the ball away (or get stripped) at least a few times.

Saddest thing I heard during the telecast is that he is the only player on the team that came in as a freshmen.

I think at one point during tonight's game, the ESPN announcer mentioned that 4 of 5 guys on the floor hadn't started their careers at USF. That one being Fitzpatrick.

As Vega mentioned, Fitzpatrick fell in Heath's lap. He was allowed out of his LOI with Georgia State, DoJo was dating Toralyn's sister at the time, and it was DoJo who let Heath know Fitzy was available. I think Ox Gardner wound up committing to Marquette, which left the spot open for Heath to take a shot at the local King product, whom he never initially recruited. I love Fitzy's aggressiveness around the bucket, and he's got a sweet outside shot for a big man. I wish you could transplant his physical inside play into both Gilchrist and Famous's bodies. I swear, Famous has got to hold the record for most dunks blocked by the rim of any player in USF history. If Fitzy can cut down on his turnovers, I think he should be a starter.
