You have to respect Edsall for waiting to make his move till after the bowl game.

Doesn't sound like that is the case.

Not to worry. The players will do it after fumbles / penalties instead of running the stairs

Well, Pitt and UConn will be rebuilding next year.  Let's see what they can do.

Teams next year that will be challenging for the conference champions are:

Louisville

West Virginia

Syracuse

USF

not if usf doesn get  a better qb

So the last two Big East showings in BCS games have been terrible and the coaches got new jobs?  Not liking that.  I know Cincy got bailed on in advance but yikes.

I would like to think that Skip sees the chance to create an era of dominance in such a flaky conference?

I'm betting that both UConn and Maryland do worse next year than this one. Maryland is crazy--there must be something else to this than making money for athletics, as this hire seems unlikely to improve the team, entice more donations, result in more tickets sold, etc.

Yeah, this is just plain weird and doesn't make sense.  Have the salary figures been released yet?...that's the only way I understand this move.

He's stated already that it is his dream job.  He's from Glen Rock, PA-- if you look at it on google maps, the closest D1A football program is Maryland, so he probably has close ties to the area still and it was the program that he grew up watching.
