fitch leaving hurts us no matter how good or bad he is because it'll just take more time to gel the team and their relationship with coaches, etc.

WHATEVER WE DO, PLEASE PAY WHATEVER IT TAKES TO KEEP SNYDER!!!!!

I don't care if Fitch leaves when the new staff came over it was immediately apparent he was nothing special.

Synder on the other hand is invaluable, the rest of the assistants are great too.

Oh well his play calling was not dynamic or anything... this will be a good change up in my opinion, assuming we get a quality replacement.

Snyder's good as gone.

Really?  Please explain, since I've seen nothing with his name mentioned ...

Snyder's good as gone.

I hope and pray to god he stays! Guy is a great DC and we could really use him staying on the staff for a long time similar to Burnham.

Just an opinion.  And you won't hear anything til after bowl season anyway unless an opening pops up beforehand

I love me some Snyder.  However, the man has had one good defense after coming off of some of the worst seasons that Marshall has ever seen.  I give him two or three more years until he is gone, unless we somehow pull of the VT of the south.  I would love to have the HC, OC, and DC for 20+ years together.  VT shows just exactly what having the same staff together year in and year out can do.

I like the VaTech reference. 30 years ago, VPI, as it was then known, was nowhere near being a "destination" school, just as we are not today. It was on a level with Old Dominion and VCU.

Fast forward a few years, to an AD and President dedicated to quality athletics, some great coaches, the money to buy some consistency, and you have an elite program.

We will be in that category within 10 years, and I think Skip and Stan know this and will stick around. Whether they can convince their assistants to hold on is another story.

Besides, I'm not convinced losing Fitch is necessarily a bad thing...

Here's to hoping Kent State takes Jeff Mullen from WVU, or the LSU receivers coach, as someone told me is also in the running.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
