A true rival would be awesome. WVU I think is slowly developing hate for us.

I have to agree with everyone who says UCF is our natural rival. If they ever get into the Big East, then there you go. It's a done deal. It's kind of like that expression, "you can't choose your friends".... (because they choose you) -- or is it that friendship is something that is not borne out of the conscious mind... just like a rivalry?? I don't know... whatever I've been drinking...

Give WVU about 4-5 more years and it will be a rival.  They will get so sick and tired of losing to USF, they will begin to hate us.  Rutgers has the start of something too.

As I said, give WVU another 5 yrs.

Dollars to doughnuts we'll be developing a greater rivalry with UCF than with the Mountaineers over the next few years.  I can see the series being renewed possibly as soon as next year.   

I'm not saying I like the idea either, but for a rivalry to exist, there must be some sense of animosity coming from both sides.  WVU does not see us a rival.

We are too young, but getting there.  'eers fans know how royally we have screwed them so right now, they probably are the closest.  BUT - UCF getting into a BCS conference locks it as our rival, period.  As nasty and classless as we have seen UCF fans, especially at our first game in Tampa (and to be fair, some USF fans belong right there with them) the bad blood would not be forced; the animosity would be real and palpable.  I believe it is a done deal with UCF when they go BCS or the BCS dies.

Could you see a trophy with a (War) Flamingo and a Mickey Mouse on it with a miniature I-4 sign as a background?

I completely agree.  I am a proud USF alumni and I think UCF is our naturaly rival.  Many USF fans act UCF is far behind USF.  As of now, they are pretty much dead even on recruiting.  They are doing all of this without even being in BCS Conference.  The last time we played them, we won in overtiime.  We are a lot more evenely match then people think.  The first few times we beat them, they were still getting out of of their long losing streak.  We are a natural rival to them.  Most students from USF at least know a few people from UCF.  I went to the last game we played against them and it was insane.

Boise State wants to end the series with Idaho just because they are moving into the MWC. Now that's crazy.
