... much less meaningless games.

Disagree that a BOWL game is meaningless.

You and I might not agree, but there are a LOT of fans out there that weren't interested by the SP Bowl.

But there were a lot of fans from UCF and Rutgers interested in coming over/down for the game. All we had to do was drive over the bridge...

Agree with this ... and that's what sad. They were also not interested in seeing USF play ... and many Sr's in their last game. F'n sad.

Bowl games do walk a very thin line on the verge of meaningless...

it pulls money for school, allows the draftable plays one last showcase game, and brings money to the host city...but if its not a BCS game, its just an exhibition game...

could be that a lot of our fans were disappointed with the way the season turned out and we're that excited about making a lower bowl, where as ucf fans were just glad to make a bowl since they didn't have one the previous year and if history plays into it, they won't make one this year.

The difference in drives between us and UCF is pretty much inconsequential. They showed in those numbers because they were slobbering over the chance to knock off a BCS team. If we were playing a team from a higher profiled conference (bascially any other BCS conference) we would have sold it out, too ...

True ... just like the Spring Game.

We just don't have many Die Hard fans.

There would still be an *

Depending on who that team would have been ... Vandy, Duke, Baylor ?  ;D

We would of had more, but not near a sellout - unless their fans eclipsed ours.

...

Rutgers had a ton more fans at the game than Memphis did.

Difference maker for the overall numbers.

yeah, that's pretty much the reason.  It was only 4,000 more than last year.  And I'll go out on a limb here and say Rutgers brought at least 4000 more then memphis did.

If we were playing South Carolina(or any school equivalent) in the St Pete Bowl we would have done the same thing they did.  In fact...we would have had thousands more.

The fact that they only had about 4500 more people than us at the game, when RUTGERS brought far more people than memphis did...and this was UCiF's closest thing to a SUPER BOWL, it just goes to show the different situations.

Put us up against ANY SEC team or BIG TEN team in a bowl game...gurranteed our people show up in the tens of thousands.

GO BULLS!!!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
