Maybe CJL should have been a little more humble...

And not lied. Sack up, son, and maybe you would still be employed.

No, he wouldn't be. Did you not see/hear the press conference today?

maybe there is a difference in "listed cause" and "actual cause"

and finding truth in striking a player is easier to pass thru the "not paying you any money other than your 1/12" then saying "hey we wouldnt of fired him if he would of just admitted it"  then i could see some judge saying leavitt is owed his full buyout.

funny how you play by the book on certain points of view but not others.

When this story first broke, I said that the thing that worried me the most was the "I'm the most powerful man in this building statement".  That, IMHO, is the attitude that lead to his downfall.  And his real problem turned out to be that although he was the most powerful man in that building, there was a woman named Genshaft in a building nearby wielding a bit more power than Jim.

+1 And what everyone needs to realize, for those still skeptical, is that it did happen.....Why did some say it was only a grab of the shoulder pads, because they were either young on the team(and did not want to go through dealing with a new coach) or were employed by the university and did not want to have to deal with possibly loosing there jobs as well like Leavitt did in the end.

I am in my 40's and find it offensive when a bumpkin calls me son, I would imagine Leavitt feels the same way. I have also found that rednecks who display a lot of bravado by challenging the manhood of others are usually not really brave or just stupid.

I'm not going by any book. I'm going by what the communications director said at the presser. When asked about if CJL had showed contrition would it have mattered, he said (paraphrasing) no, the incident itself was too damning to allow him to stay ...
