aren't we off the hook with Leavitt's contract if he was terminated with cause? What is our pay range and what would Tuberville command?

He has FL ties as a former Miami Hurricanes assistant in their glory days.

"Florida defensive line coach Dan McCarney, former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville, who has strong ties in the state of Florida from his tenure on Miami's coaching staff, and Michigan offensive coordinator Calvin Magee are expected to be candidates to replace Leavitt, a source told ESPN.com's Ivan Maisel."

Based on the track record of USF making underwhelming O-Coordinator choices, I'm guessing we'll be seeing Head Coach Joe Tresey next year.

I am sad to see him go. However, who knows what the future will bring? It could be a good thing. Jim Tressel wasn't a big name. He's taken OSU to 3 title games and beaten Michigan 6 years in a row..Who would have thought.....You never know...

he'd won 4 1AA championships

I would be very happy with Magee.

ET, what has Magee shown you? Michigan has been atrocious. I'm hoping for Tuberville.

I'd be happy with Tuberville...He won in the SEC. Hopefully that will translate into winning in the Big East.

McCarney would be a great pickup.  His time with the Gators probablly even furthered his appeal to in-state HS coaches and could help us in recruiting.

Could you imagine what he would be able to do with the Florida talent. I know they wont bring him in because of how CJL left but WOW.

The point totals would be hilariously high when UC and USF played!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
